We met the nicest people, Jim and Donna Ward from Arlington, VA. They are the proud owners of an original Shelby Cobra.

The title of the blog came from the story Jim told about Carroll Shelby signing the owner's manual. Jim saw no need for Carroll to sign the car since it was obvious that it was a Carroll Shelby creation. He did, however, want him to sign the owner's manual. Carroll did but commented that it was a Shelby Cobra and not an AC Cobra as the owner's manual said. That's when he marked through AC and wrote Shelby instead.

Carroll was a true marketer as well as all the other accomplishments on his resume.

We had a great time at Hill, Peterson, Carper, Bee and Deitzler law firm. We all thank them very much for allowing us to use their building for this month's Pistons & Pints.

Hosted by Charles and Cindy Justice, this was an event to be remembered. The Bar-B-Que was great as well as all the other food. Drinks were plentiful, including Falcor wine from law partners Jim Peterson and Mike Bee's vineyard in California, and our own Bob Wright's wine that he makes right here in the hills of West Virginia.

We met at the Golden Corral for our regularly scheduled monthly meeting. Ten members showed up. They were Don Fugate, Ken Rubin, who we haven't seen in a while since his fall, Bill Hall, Mark Mason, Bill Michael, Dave Neil, Steve Ewing, Barry McCoy, Larry Koppelman and Dan Blackwood.

Steve commented that he saw a 1980 MGB near Cedar Grove with a "Make Offer" sign on it. If anyone is interested they should call 304-595-1863.

In keeping with our new format, we went around the room giving people a chance to comment on their latest LBC adventure. I told about the belly pan I fabricated with the oil absorbing pad attached. No more oil dr...
