The Christmas party this year was over the top. We always have a good time when we get together but this year was especially fun.
Once again we were able to use the offices of Hill, Peterson, Carper, Bee & Dietzler. Charlie and Cindra Justice were our hosts and what a great job they did. I don't think we should be surprised though because they always do a great job. They had help of course but Cindra and Charlie were the prime movers. Help came from Kevin Roberts and Jennifer, Mark Mason and Connie and all of the other members who brought such wonderful food.
With such a variety of offerings there was plenty for everyone. From the Ham provided by Richard Stephenson to Chic-Fil-A from Dave Neil, Pumpkin Pie from Pam Blackwood, Cheesie Potatoes from Connie White, Salads from Prema Ray, Brownies & Cookies from Delberta Riffe, Ham Apatellias from Mary Beth Robinson, and the list goes on. All of that accompanied by a selection of wines from Ken Rubin, and Bob Wright's own creations.
After enjoying such great food we moved on to the gift exchange. I was honored to be the MC and had a great time doing it. Gifts ranged from elegant to "who would want that"! As always the stealing of gifts was more fun than could be described. Some gifts were highly sought after and others, not so much. It's not really about the gifts as much as it is about having fun.
We all got to know each other a little better. Newcomers Mark and Mary Beth Robinson got a little better idea about what kind of club they are involved in and all us veterans enjoyed a really great time and strengthened some existing relationships.
As things were winding down we were treated to the video of the fall cruise. Thanks to Mark White, our resident videographer, for putting that together. That video is attached to this blog along with some photos from the evening. If you have photos to contribute to this blog just send them to me at 30424wvbcc@gmail.com and I'll add them to the gallery.
I believe everyone had an enjoyable evening and we are all looking forward to next year. We'll have more cruises, car shows and picnics. Pistons & Pints will continue and maybe we can come up with some new activities. We have our eye on some out of town "All British" car shows that should be very interesting. I would like to revive our tech sessions at our Saturday meetings. If you would like to talk about a particular subject, or have a tech idea, let me know and I'll put you on the agenda.
If you have ideas or would like to organize an event we would love to hear about it. Just let us know.
Our next meeting is Saturday, Jan. 6th. at the Golden Corral in Cross Lanes. Be sure and watch your e-mail for more details and reminders.
