The Charleston Boulevard Rod Run & Doo Wop kicked off Wednesday evening with a cruise-in at Cabela's and Home Depot. Home Depot joined in on the fun this year which I think was a good move. Last year there were so many cars that the Cabela's parking lot was full and cars had to park along the side of the building. That was not a good spot to be.
We had a few cars participate. Rick & Prema Ray, Me, Steve Ewing & his friend the Colonel, Brent Van Deysen, Richard Stephenson, Larry Stonestreet and Larry & Chris Kopelman.
Below are some photos I took. The 55 Chevy was a new creation from David Smith. That car was flawless. Brent's Vega is for sale and there were a couple of other cars that interested me.
There was one tragedy that took place. A 55 Chevy and a pretty new Camaro collided on corridor G. Here's the link to the news article. https://wchstv.com/news/local/classic-car-catches-fire-on-us-119-metro-911-says. As you can see, both cars were heavily damaged and the 55 caught fire. Both drivers were injured and transported to the hospital.
Enjoy the photos not the wreck.
