WVBCC 7th. Annual
Car Show at
Beni Kedem Temple

What a great day for a car show. We had about 50 cars and some that we hadn't seen before. We got 2 new members: David Flannery and his Austin Healey 3000 as well as John Wilkinson and his TR6.

Jamie did a great job as MC and we had some great prizes. Thanks to Charleston Auto and Chris Reed for the very nice detail buckets. 2 from Griots and 2 from Armor All. Thanks also to the Charleston Convention and Visitors Bureau and Tim Brady for 4 Tickets to the Monster Truck event. Also the Hampton Inn at South Ridge and Mike Barnemo for one night of lodging.  Thanks to Sonesta Suites and Greg Bolles for one night of lodging. Thanks to Four Points Sheradon and Dale Jordan for a $50 gift certificate to the Recovery Sports Bar. Thanks also to the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center and Patrick Leahy for 4  tickets to the Loverboy/Styxx conceert.

I apologize for not getting more pictures of the door prize and trophy winners but Kevin Halloran did get some. Thanks Kevin..

Photos of the event are below. If you were unable to come we hope you will come next year.

Below is the interview of our president praising our show and our club.

Contractors Association
Car Show at
Berry Hills Country Club
10/16/25

This was a new show for us and it was very well done. To attend, an RSVP was requested and they had a unique way of voting for the car you liked, There was a QR code on the placard they gave us to put on our windshield. After scanning the code with your phone you were taken to a website and you just followed the directions to vote.

There was no entry and they had free food and drinks.  This show is held every other year and hopefully we can attend the next one.

Charleston Sternwheel Regatta 2025 Car Show
July 6, 2025

Our great club pulled off a hat trick.

Bill Michael (me) won the Mayor's Choice award with my Triumph TR6.
Mayor's Choice: Awarded to a vehicle that embodies community spirit, representing the best in automotive passion and local culture.

Larry Kopelman won best european with his white Mercedes 230SL.
European: Showcasing European engineering, from classic vintage roadsters to modern luxury and performance (MG, Porsche, BMW, Mercedes-Benz...)

Our club won Best-Repped Club.
Best-Repped Club: Awarded to the car club that demonstrates the greatest participation, enthusiasm, and unity--showcasing the camaraderie and commitment of its members.

Check out the website. The white 49 Chevy won best of show and it was well deserved. The Twisted Metal funny car from Greg Chandler's garage was quite an engineering marvel (see the video).

Firing up a MONSTER

Coonskin Park 75th Anniversary Car Show
6/28/25

There was a Carr show advertised for 2:00PM but it didn't materialize. Therefore, I just relaxed under a shade tree with Chris Kopelman, Steve Ewing and Margie King and enjoyed the Charleston Metro Band. They played some great songs and did a wonderful job. There were also food trucks, free access to the pool and discount golf.
